WHAT IS REC?
Rental Equipment Coverage (REC) is a straightforward, hassle-free way to protect you in the event that rented equipment is accidentally damaged or lost during the rental period. The Cat Rental Store at Thompson Machinery offers a comprehensive program to provide you with added protection. REC shields you from being held responsible for most causes of damage to equipment you are renting.
WHAT DOES REC COVER?
REC is only for protection from physical damage to the machinery while operating the equipment. This coverage does not extend to over the road auto liability coverage (it does not include transportation insurance of the equipment or hauler to and from jobsite), separate insurance must be held for this coverage.
REC COVERS:
» Accidental damage to Thompson Machinery rental equipment
(excludes intentional abuse of the equipment)
» Theft of Thompson Machinery rental equipment
» Vandalization of Thompson Machinery rental equipment
» Fire, Wind, and Flood damage
» Glass Breakage
REC DOES NOT COVER:
» Damage due to negligence
» Tracks and all wear items
» Damage to tires
» Damage to equipment resulting from intentional abuse
REC REQUIREMENTS:
- While enrolled in the Rental Equipment Coverage program, you are required to carry $1MM liability coverage with Certificate of insurance provided to Thompson Machinery.
- Permission must be granted to operator for coverage to apply, coverage is valid for the authorized operator ONLY.
- Applications with hazardous materials, not applicable.
- Basic maintenance requirements must be met for coverage to apply.
- Not properly securing equipment afterhours or after use could result in declined coverage.
- If equipment is severely damaged this must be communicated within 24 hours to a Thompson Machinery Rep.
- If equipment is stolen this must be communicated within 24 hours to law enforcement and a Thompson Machinery Rep and you must comply with the investigations.
